I think Hollywood is incredibly segregated. I’ve never seen any place like it. The gatekeepers who are the most progressive activists inspired to make the world better… they’re better people, right? They’re segregated. It’s self segregated in some cases, but there’s nobody Black in charge of anything in Hollywood.
Antisemitism is just another form of racism. It’s the same sickness, whether it’s about Christians, about Islamophobia, which is horrible. It’s all wrong. It’s all the same.
The biggest impediment to get the laws changed was the lobbyists. Whether you’re talking about healthcare, jobs going overseas, or tax reform, you’re always coming up against lobbyists.
It is only through opening your hearts will you be able to see that by promoting freedom for all, you are unchaining yourself. I guess I’m an optimist.
There is a subject – there is a research that says a man thinks about sex every 12 seconds. And so when an artist expresses something that’s sexual in music it is a reflection of our reality. If we want that reality changed, then we have to do things that affect the core.
I don’t know that God favors the person who has a greater reach than those who have a small reach. It’s the intention. I try to keep a positive intention, and use whatever resources I have to benefit others.
I want to talk a little bit abut two things: clarity and cloudiness. Both of them quiet the mind. One quiets it, the other numbs it. either way, there’s less thought, and the less thought, the more happiness.
