I didn’t realize I was in an awkward phase when I was in an awkward phase. It was when I was between the ages of 9 and 11. I was homeschooled.

You would see me cover every Adele, Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. Then I’d have to do ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ and ‘Crazy Train,’ and it was a really weird combination.

Every free day, every weekend, I am in a recording session. I’m very lucky to have such supportive people around me.

When I was 6, I opened my mouth and didn’t stop singing. I had a voice and wanted to use it.
