I take pride in my music, I feel like it actually does something for people personally, in their personal lives, so it’s real music and it helps people get through things like I was able to get through things.
Stay focused. You gotta believe in yourself. I think that’s the biggest thing I’ve been able to do throughout my whole career, even before I actually had a big career in this industry.
I define “grindin'” as just nonstop work! Nonstop work, nonstop progress. Can’t sleep during that grind – I mean, you get a little bit of it, but if you’re progressin’ at every hour, every second, you are grindin’.
That Scarface movie is just ruthless! His state of mind was like, “Yo, we’re gonna get it – we’re gonna get this money, we’re gonna get this, get that.”
Even though I’m out there as an artist, I continue droppin’ mixtapes, I continue doin’ this and continue showin’ DJs love personally. That’s why I continue doin’ a lot of things other artists don’t do.

Not only my favorite producers, but those are actually brothers, they’re part of our We The Best family. To me, they’re the biggest guys out, and the music they produce and the records they put out are phenomenal records.
Through my life, [there have been] a lot of devils and a lot of situations, so I’m just goin’ hard, maintaining, regardless of what people got to say about Ace Hood.
The budgets are runnin’ low, the streets ain’t really got money no more, things are just dryin’ up; I just felt like people needed some motivation, so I took ’em ‘Overtime.’
I’ve always believed in self, I’ve always believed that as long as I believe, nothing else matters. I just put that type of motivation and that type of energy into my music, and I’ve always had confidence in my music as well.
I’m a young dude, and there ain’t too many people who are doin’ it like I’m doin’ it. There ain’t no others in my lane – I am the future of this music.
