We can’t call for climate justice while advocating for policies and phase-out-dates based on targets that exclude aspect of equity and historic emissions.
We live in a strange world, where we think we can buy or build our way out of a crisis that has been created by buying and building things. Where a football game or a film gala gets more media attention than the biggest crisis humanity has ever faced.
The changes needed to safeguard future living conditions for all species won’t come from governments or businesses. It will come from best available science and public opinion. So its unto us. Spread the science.
Sometimes NOT doing things – like just sitting down outside the parliament – speaks much louder than doing things. Just like a whisper sometimes is louder than shouting.
This climate law is surrender – because nature doesn’t bargain and you cannot make ”deals” with physics. And we will not allow you to surrender on our future.
To protect, restore and rewild the living world is probably the most effective solution we have at hand to fight both the climate- and ecological emergencies.
That we live in a post-truth society today, and that we don’t care, that we have lost empathy. We have stopped caring for each other in a way. We have stopped thinking long-term and sustainable. And that’s something that goes much deeper than just climate crisis deniers.
And in a world where everyone strives to act, think and look the same – being different is truly something to be proud of. that’s why I’m very proud to be austistic.
You need to listen to us, us who cannot vote. You need to vote for us, for your children and grandchildren. What we are doing now can soon no longer be undone.
